Ultimate Nut Knob Generator

Nut knobs are useful for various DIY projects and can be made using a customizer. The most common size for 3D printing is M3 nuts. A screwdriver handle for 1/4″ hex bits can also be made using the customizer. To ensure easy installation, the nuts can be heated up to 60-80°C/140-175°F. Printing instructions include 20% infill and 0.2mm layer with 0.3mm also being suitable. The expert->cross-section function can be used for easier customization, but it should be reset before creation. The sample STL files have the following parameters.

Sharpie holder for pegboard

The author made a Sharpie holder to solve the problem of losing the markers while working on bikes. The holder was created using Fusion 360, which allowed the author to make it fully parameterized and customizable. The holder was designed with holes a bit large for the Sharpie body and works best when stored inverted. The author also added the Fusion 360 source files for the single and 2-position blanks to their pegboard.

A screwdriver holder designed to be compact yet easy to use. It has a funnel shape for easy tool placement and holes for various screwdriver sizes, with the front row for smaller precision drivers. It can be mounted on metric or imperial pegboards, a wall, pinboard, or table edge. It has been updated several times, with version 6 having more space between slots to fit larger handles and fewer slots to fit smaller print beds. Miniature Screwdriver Kit

Print a mini screwdriver kit that includes all the necessary bits to tackle small repair jobs on electronics, toys, and other household items. This handy kit is compact and easy to store, making it the perfect addition to any DIY toolbox.

Fixed Torque Wrench Handles from 0.5Nm to 6Nm (in half and 1Nm steps)

The author has created a set of self-printing 1/4″ drives with low, fixed torque for applications such as carbon parts on mountain bikes or screw connections on electronic and robotic devices. The drives have a larger diameter with more and thicker fins, and the housing is screwed. The rotors receive different torque values through different thicknesses of fins and different lengths in the vertical axis. The drives are designed for PETG with 100% infill and the author has tested them with a high-quality ‘Stahlwille’ torque wrench. It should be noted that these are self-printed plastic parts and will not reach the uniformity of professional tools, but for most applications, absolute precision is not needed. The author has also published a torque measuring lever and a bar for additional force. A list of the parts used can be found in the update section.

UFS-084B Hex Bit – Septagon Handle with Collet

The author designed a handle for holding a chisel blade with a round shaft using a collet to grip the shaft and a screwdriver-style handle. They found a simple push drill with a collet and several screwdriver-style handles on Thingiverse, eventually selecting a heptagonal shape. They modified the handle using Blender, resizing it to fit the collet, and turning the round hole into a hex to hold hex bits. They created a second similar handle, and plan to use it with Phillips bits from their collection.

The holder can be designed to fit different sizes of screwdriver handles and accommodate a variety of bit shapes and sizes. Printable “Precision” Measuring Tools

This is a work-in-progress (WIP) project for a set of precision tools that can be 3D printed. The author warns not to scale the project as it will affect the measurements. They have designed feeler gauges for both mm and inch, hole gauges for both mm and inch, a ruler with both inch and cm measurements, calipers for both cm and inch, a fillet gauge with convex and concave ends, and a speed bevel. The author intends for the tool set to be used by beginners in 3D printing and design. The set can save at least $100 compared to purchasing traditional precision tools. The author welcomes comments, questions, and suggestions for improvement.

The Strip Sandpaper Holder and Mini Sanding Blocks are tools that are designed to be printed on a 3D printer. This makes it convenient and affordable to produce these tools, as you can print them right in your own home or workshop.

This is a 73mm x 15mm sanding block that is easy to print on a Prusa i3 MK2 MMU 3D printer using PLA filament in yellow and red. You need a 16 cm strip of sandpaper to use with it. The recommended print settings include using rafts and supports, with a resolution of 0.15 and infill of 60%.

Hand-Screw Clamp

This is a 3D printed hand-screw type clamp concept made of 100% 3D printed parts in PLA, designed with consideration of the grain of the print. Although it may not match the strength of an actual clamp, the design was made to be as strong as possible. The small “SlideHinge” parts are the weak points and can be made stronger by printing them solid.

Printable Quick Grip Trigger Clamp (Functional)

This is a Quick Grip Trigger Clamp, designed with Fusion 360 and printed on a Prusa i3 MK3, with the exception of springs which can be found in a spring assortment. The springs required for the release and clamp triggers are 0.035″x0.25″x0.5″ and 0.041″x0.437″x1.062″ respectively. The printed parts shown in pictures were made using different filaments – Ziro Carbon Fiber PLA (black), Prusament Galaxy Silver PLA (grey), and Amazon Basics PETG (orange). The printer used was a Prusa I3 MK3S.

Clamp-On Vise – Fully 3D Printable

This is a 3D printable clamp-on vise that can be attached to a benchtop. It has interchangeable TPU pads and a 5″ operating range. The additional parts needed are 3 retaining clips, 2 guide rods, and 2 grips TPU. It was printed using a Creality Ender 3 printer, without rafts or supports, at 0.2 resolution and 20% infill using Duramic PLA+/TPU in grey/black color.

Milwaukee M18 Battery Mount Clip-In

This is a wall mount/belt mount for Milwaukee M18 batteries that securely holds the battery in place. It has been designed with standard drywall screws for easy installation, and is a quick print without requiring supports or rafts. The design has undergone multiple iterations to make it tight-fitting and secure, and has been tested for use on a belt, although the weight may not be comfortable. The design was inspired by a commercial product but was improved to make it more durable and better-fitting. This design is for personal use only and not intended for sale.

Sharpener for knives – nozzle for “DREMEL”

The nozzle is designed for the TASP MMD 001A12 drill/tumbler and can be printed in ABS plastic. The recommended printing parameters are: nozzle size 0.4mm, layer height 0.2mm (0 to 14mm) and 0.24mm (14 to 54mm), printing speed of 25mm/s (0 to 14mm) and 45mm/s (14 to 54mm), extruder temperature of 235°C, and table temperature of 115°C.

DREMEL Drill Press (Very strong and precise)

A DREMEL Drill Press can be built using a spool of filament for only 5€. The design features easy and fast DREMEL placement, adjustable height, a lock knob to fix the lever, a big, stable and sturdy ground plate, easy assembly with no special tools required, and simple but accurate vertical guidance with bearings. The build requires a 22mm steel pipe, socket hex head screws, nuts, washers, and bearings. The 3D printed parts are made from regular PLA and should be printed with at least 5 top, bottom, outer, and inner layers. An updated version with a universal base and a holder for DREMEL 3000 is included.

Third Hand Soldering Tool

A 3D printed circuit board holder is a device used to secure printed circuit boards (PCBs) during soldering or other electrical work. These holders can be custom designed and printed using a 3D printer to fit specific PCBs or to meet specific requirements, such as a compact size or adjustable height. By using a 3D printed holder, the PCB can be securely held in place during soldering, reducing the risk of damage or unwanted movement. These holders can be made of a variety of materials, including plastic or metal, and are often inexpensive and easy to produce.

Electronics Third Hand Soldering Stand

The author designed a 3D printed “third hand” soldering stand for holding small electronic parts during soldering or fine work. The stand consists of a base, lock block, wheel and clamp, end post, and regular post. The base, lock block, and wheel & clamp can be made of PLA, PETG, or any material. The end posts and regular posts should be made of PETG or a similar material. The alligator clips and lead weights (optional) are not 3D printed. Assembly instructions are provided. The author used hot glue for both installing the alligator clips and posts to the base, as it is easy to remove if needed. The clamp mechanism can be installed or screwed in from the bottom. The author has also included the Fusion 360 file for the arms for those with S3D who are having issues with the bodies.

The “Solder station – third hand – helping hand v3” is a device that helps in soldering or fine work by providing an extra hand. It consists of 80mm fan, crocodile clips, panel power connector, switch, 100mm strip LED, and a 12V power supply. The wiring diagram and corrected version of the base have been added. The device also has a arm tin welder holder.

Third hand for soldering mini

This is a remix of a soldering station called the “Invasion of the Wildebeest” by Wolfchild (found on Thingiverse). The author liked the design but had to modify it to fit their needs. They made the inlet smaller and added a stabilizing arc and a tray at the front. The original design had a tendency to flip over, so the back of the base was extended. The remix is compatible with various base designs from the original. The author doesn’t see a resemblance to a wildebeest but kept the name as it is.

This is a 3D model designed for printing on a TEVO Tarantula printer using Devil Design PETG filament in Ruby Red color. The recommended print settings are with no rafts and with supports, using a resolution of 0.3 or 0.2mm and an infill of 30%. The model is best printed one module at a time.
